Recognition culture celebrates core values
Giving teams the tools to meaningfully connect post-merger
Following a strategic merger, brand leaders of a leading modular workspace and storage solutions organization wanted to use the opportunity to build a company-wide recognition culture. But it needed to be more than “words on a website” to truly serve the global, largely deskless workforce. Their new values-based recognition program and platform, “Ready to Go,” offered teams an equitable way to celebrate key behaviors and milestones. It also streamlined multiple employee experience programs.
Giving teams freedom to share feedback
To unite the merged teams, employees needed a voice. Developing an employee listening ecosystem supported formal and organic feedback.
- Quarterly pulse surveys as well as onboarding and exit surveys continue to track employee sentiment and solve employee experience challenges as they arise.
- Continuous VoE (voice of the employee) and data analysis keep the program adaptable and effective.
Actively seeking employee sentiment wasn’t just for employees’ benefit. Enterprise leaders learned how to more consistently serve their teams’ wants and needs.
Motivating participation
Based on employee insights, the team developed and launched a phased approach tied to specific satisfaction and retention goals. It better accounted for key employee journey milestones, starting Day 1.
Robust, responsive communications ensured employees could access recognition and rewards on the go.
Platform highlights
- Continuous employee feedback
- Safety challenges, regional sales contests and celebration events like National Truck Driver Appreciation Week
- Multimedia communications
- Performance-based incentives and live event/milestone recognitions
Tying values-based behaviors to rewards
The new centralized platform let employees engage in a variety of ways, all in one place. Employees rewarded one another in real time when they saw values-based behaviors in action. They also earned points and redeemed them for tangible rewards and experiences in the digital storefront. Together, the platform and storefront create a seamless recognition experience.
Engaging teams beyond the platform
To support a strong launch, each employee at the organization’s 275 locations received program-branded kits. The call to action? Log into their platform and view their personalized dashboards (individual contributors, manager or admin), where they can issue and track recognition, stay informed, and engage with peers.
Powering program updates with data insights
Authentic, individualized and brand-aligned recognition is the foundation for the organization’s successful post-merger culture. The launch and ongoing support of the “Ready to Go” program helps attract, engage and retain top talent.
