8 Great Ideas to Make Your Events Socially Shareable

Whether you’re trying to create a stunning conference, gala or pop-up event, in today’s social world you should also include the sharable factor in your planning. While the hope is that your event will naturally lend itself to social media posts, there are some things you can do to make it truly memorable and give your attendees something to brag about. And give serious FOMO to those who missed it.

Here are eight ideas to encourage your attendees to get sharing:

 

1. Snapchat Lenses/Geofilters

Make ahead of time or a cool sponsorship opportunity, these lenses allow attendees to augment their reality. Users create layers that interact with real-life so you could make several elements or props animated when viewed through the lens. This gets attendees interacting via Snapchat (as geofilters are available only on Snapchat) and sharing all over social media for promotion.

 

2. Dedicated Photo Zones

Does your event have any show-stopping sights that people will naturally want to snap? Why not create them! Designate specific zones in your space that are designed specifically for photo ops. For example, setting up a backdrop with props and good lighting is a surefire way to get your guests to stop and strike a pose.

 

3D or 360-degree Photo Booth

The photo booth is getting a makeover! Capture attendees from all sides with this 3D result and create fun shareable content for social media. Or take it a step further and capture the ambiance and atmosphere of the event using the increasingly popular 360-degree photography as seen below:

 

3. Stage Setting 2.0

Capture attendee attention and make your speakers more engaging with custom and innovative stages. A cool theme, coupled with some clever lighting draws attention and keeps the focus.

 

4. Murals

Commission artwork or have a mural created in honor of your event. It could contain your branding, what makes your business special or stand out as well as key features that define you. It could also depict a significant company milestone or anniversary.

 

5. Crowd Props

Everything from giant inflatables to bubbles can make the experience more interactive—especially with huge crowds. These can be a way of tying themes together while also making it fun and socially sharable.

 

6. Hashtag Printer

A hashtag printer is an innovative solution that is rentable. The printer automatically prints all photos that are posted on Twitter or Instagram and tagged with a pre-defined hashtag. No matter where the photos were taken—outside or inside the event venue or even in another country—as long as posts use the hashtag, photos will be printed. Delegates can then pick up their photos at the printer and take them home as souvenirs.

 

7. Aroma DJ

They say the strongest sense tied to memory is smell, right? Well, why not ensure your guests remember your event with an aroma DJ! Using an “aroma laboratory,” these new and exciting DJs mix a blend of oils, incense and real pheromones; “controlling the vibes of the dance floor by mixing a seamless blend of scents!”

 

8. Aerial Performers

A sure-fire way to involve the audience when you have little floor space or room is to have aerial décor, artists and entertainers, performing above their heads. Aerial performers also add a thrill element because they are so high up—the added anxiety/excitement makes attendees feel a part of the act itself. It makes the venue more interactive as a whole while attendees look upwards and can make use of dead space without impacting the floor area if you have a large crowd or audience.

 


 

The great thing about socially sharable content is that it can be as varied as your brand. A larger budget might bring in the trending speakers or cutting-edge tech, but that doesn’t mean you need to break the bank to offer your attendees something unique.
